Hi everyone.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

My name is Karine, I am French, and 15 years ago, I fell in love with Japanese culture.<\/p>

Last July, I moved to Kyoto. I plan to explore every inch of the city of 1,600 temples, 400 shrines and 17 Unesco World Heritage sites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I am so thrilled about it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Although I’m on a tight budget, I always find good value for less money, enjoyable experiences and things to do.<\/p>

I have started a blog to share my adventures and discoveries with you. You might find something to add to your bucket list.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

But before you may ask, why Kyoto?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

It\u2019s a stage on which much of Japanese history was played out. Also, it’s a compact city, totally walkable and simultaneously a concentration of Japanese culture, past and present.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>Where innumerable things go on all the time.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>Kyoto changes with the seasons, and each of them reflects on the town in a different way.<\/p>

There are a lot of blogs about Kyoto. I would like to shed some light on some less beaten-paths and less common things to do in the ancient capital of Japan. While on a tight budget.<\/p>

The things less touristy, the ones that the Japanese like to do on their time off. It can be daunting when you need help understanding the language and the systems to buy a bus ticket. I will give you all the information so you can try them independently.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I will share helpful tips to make the journey go smoothly for you. I have lived in Japan for a long time now, and with the help of my partner, I started to understand the Japanese way of life. Being able to speak and read Japanese opens a lot of doors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Those places are where most Japanese tourists go to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Since Edo times, Kyoto has been attracting tourists from all over Japan. Kyoto even had her guidebook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
